Job Description

Growing west side suburb company seeking a skilled Shipping Clerk to join their team!

Shift:  Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay Rate:  $18.00/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities: (subject to change)
•             Packs and loads outgoing shipments.
•             Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against paperwork.
•             May determine method of shipment, enters information into computer, may complete shipper paperwork.
•             Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
•             Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
•             Inserts items into containers.
•             Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
•             Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
•             Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping platform to storage or work area.
•             Any and other necessary duties as assigned.
 
Required Skills:
•             Accurate counting, math, and typing skills
•             Attention to detail
•             Superior packaging skills
•             Accurate data entry skills
•             Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
•             Ability to maintain a neat and orderly work area
 
Education and Experience:
•             High school diploma or equivalent
•             2+ years of warehouse/shipping experience strongly
