Job Description

Details:
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm (On-Site)
Annual Salary: up to 95k annually DOE.

Summary
As the IT Director/Consultant, you will be accountable for strategic planning, overseeing, and guiding the firm's Information Technology activities. Your role ensures that the firm and its clients achieve the highest IT performance levels. This position reports to the Managing Partner and the Head of the Technology Committee. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a strategic IT plan, creating a 3–5-year IT roadmap outlining goals, strategies, and tactics aligned with the firm's business objectives.
- Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals.
- Identify and address security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions to enhance data security and monitor the firm's Written Information Security Plan (WISP).
- Provide expertise and support during system upgrades, installations, migrations, conversions, and file maintenance.
- Supervise system development, enhancement, and integration of new systems with existing ones.
- Collaborate with the Managing Partner and Technology Committee to develop and implement IT strategies that enhance user effectiveness, client services, and foster innovation.
- Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, discipline, and discharge.
- Develop IT staff to meet evolving user, group, and office needs, new projects, technologies, and staff strengths.
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
- Stay current with the latest technologies and identify opportunities for technology-driven innovation and efficiency improvements to meet business and system requirements.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with software and hardware providers and developers.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
- Negotiate and manage vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
- Support the firm's mission and adhere to all standards, policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Comply with the firm's policies, procedures, manuals, forms, and relevant software.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a consultant to clients by troubleshooting and analyzing IT issues.
- Participate in office and firm-wide initiatives.
- Actively pursue self-development opportunities.
- Build strong team relationships, both internally and externally.
- Maintain personal and professional integrity at all times.
- This position occasionally requires long hours, occasional weekend work, and additional on-call availability during busy seasons.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Supervisory Responsibility
- The IT Director directly supervises all staff within the IT department.
Required Experience and Skillsets
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or a minimum of eight (8) years of recent experience in information technology.
- Proficiency in the latest technologies and industry products.
- Experience with Windows operating systems.
- Experience with Citrix and/or SQL is preferred but not required.
- Several years of experience managing employees in an IT environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to gather information and explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
- Strong observational skills to identify potential problems early.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally and positively with team members and clients.
- Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
- Experience with Thomson Reuters systems is preferred but not required.
- Comprehensive payroll experience in a public accounting firm is desired.
