Accounting Operations Manager
Job Description
Everstaff is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to oversee all accounting and financial operations for a well-established, project-driven organization in Oak Park, MI.
This senior leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, effective cash flow management, and operational efficiency in a project-based environment. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will serve as the Finance Lead for the Management Team, contributing to strategic growth initiatives, financial transparency, and cross-functional alignment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance representative to executive and leadership teams
- Provide financial insights, KPI reporting, and performance metrics to support decision-making
- Develop and maintain financial scorecards tracking gross margins, project profitability, and cash flow
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly financial reporting packages
- Support long-term strategic planning through forecasting and financial modeling
- Assist in budgeting processes and development of financial policies and procedures
- Ensure accounting systems and reporting structures align with ownership or parent-company requirements, as applicable
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, including revenue recognition for project-based operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership, financial operations, or controllership experience
- Experience in project-based industries such as construction, engineering, integration, or similar environments strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success leading and developing accounting teams
- Proven ability to produce timely and accurate financial statements
- Strong proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High level of discretion and sound financial judgment
