Job Description

We’re looking for an Accounting and Payroll Assistant for our client in Canton! You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to payroll processing, maintaining employee records, assisting with HR tasks, and providing general office support. 

Salary:

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, wage calculations, and the distribution of paychecks.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including hours worked, rates of pay, deductions, and changes in job classifications.
  • Handle queries and concerns related to payroll from employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, photocopying, data entry, answering phones, and managing email correspondence.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial documents, reports, and presentations as required.
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of meetings, appointments, and company events.
  • Order, stock, and maintain office supplies, ensuring the efficient operation of the office environment.
  • Collaborate with other staff members on projects and tasks as needed, contributing to a cohesive team environment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing and office administration is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with payroll software.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as required.
