Job Description

Everstaff is seeking an Assistant Controller for a reputable manufacturing company in the Chardon area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Help develop and implement internal financial reporting systems.
  • Support the annual budget process.
  • Aid in developing financial forecasts and analyzing variances.
  • Monitor and report on budget performance.
  • Oversee cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Analyze production costs and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate costing and pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and enforce internal control policies and procedures.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Perform daily cash balancing and forecasting, along with management recommendations.
  • Manage all transactional and general accounting entries, including accrual and prepaid balancing.
  • Conduct general and subsidiary ledger account analysis of all balance sheet accounts, including adjusting entries.
  • Maintain, calculate, report, and issue tax information, including local tax, CAT tax, annual franchise tax, and annual 1099s.
  • Protect the company’s value by maintaining confidentiality and complying with legal requirements.
  • Commit to following the Quality Policy, established procedures, and guidelines as required by ISO9001 standards. Seek opportunities for continuous process improvement
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform and manage other duties and projects as assigned by the Senior Director of Finance

Experiences, Competencies, Skills, and Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of cost accounting principles and estimating practices.
  • Proven experience in a senior-level finance or accounting role with a track record of success.
  • Experience managing financial operations within a complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in financial management software, ERP, Excel, and Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing business environment.
