Bodily Injury Defense Attorney
Job Description
Everstaff is seeking an experienced Bodily Injury Defense Attorney to join an in-house legal team. This role offers the opportunity to manage litigation from inception through resolution while working alongside a collaborative group of legal, claims, and insurance professionals. The position is ideal for an attorney seeking meaningful litigation work within a stable environment that supports work–life balance and professional growth.
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary Range: $100,000 – $160,000, based on experience
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (e.g., 8–4, 8:30–4:30, or 9–5)
- Hybrid Schedule in Princeton, NJ

Essential Job Functions
- Partner with internal counsel and claims professionals to develop and execute litigation strategy, including trial preparation and expense management
- Plan, take, and defend depositions
- Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Evaluate assigned matters and provide detailed legal analysis consistent with internal litigation guidelines
- Collaborate with insureds and claims representatives to establish and implement litigation objectives aimed at timely claim resolution
- Attend motion hearings, arbitration hearings, mediations, and other pre-trial proceedings
- Prepare for and conduct trials, including witness preparation and courtroom advocacy
- Draft and argue post-trial motions and appeals
- Negotiate high-level settlement agreements and provide strategic recommendations
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of auto bodily injury and negligence litigation experience
- Proven ability to independently manage a caseload of bodily injury defense matters from start to finish
- Auto defense trial experience required
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to analyze complex issues and resolve matters efficiently and strategically
- Collaborative work style with a commitment to individual and team goals
- Technologically adept with the ability to navigate multiple legal and claims systems
Education & Licensure
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the Michigan State Bar in good standing
- Admission in Pennsylvania and/or New York preferred
