Salary Range: $24-$28 per hour

Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team in Mentor, Ohio. The ideal candidate will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, encompassing plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. This role requires interaction with contractors and vendors to address issues and/or projects related to buildings and grounds. The candidate should be capable of working independently and collaboratively, providing backup support to other maintenance personnel as required.
Essential Functions:
  • Plan Repair Work:
    • Utilize building blueprints or equipment manuals as needed for planning repair work.
  • General Repairs:
    • Perform general repairs such as drywall repairs, painting, and fixing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Routine Maintenance:
    • Conduct routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Cleaning and Upkeep:
    • Clean and assist with the upkeep of facilities.
  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Follow preventive maintenance schedules for equipment.
    • Maintain neat and accurate repair records and department information.
  • Ordering Supplies:
    • Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Maintain clean, neat, and orderly work areas to ensure safety and compliance with 5S standards.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Equipment Maintenance from a technical school or two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience/knowledge with HVAC and plumbing required.
Physical Demands:
  • Regular standing, hand usage, reaching, occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, and talking or hearing.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision and color vision.
  • Occasional driving may be required.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and mobile equipment (Forklift, Reach Fork, scissor lift, etc.).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
