CNC Laser Cutting & Fabrication Technician
Pay Rate: $20/hr. - $20/hr.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Job Summary
Seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Laser Cutting & Fabrication Technician to operate CNC laser cutting equipment and support sheet metal fabrication in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position involves producing precision components from stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metals while maintaining high standards for quality, productivity, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC laser cutting equipment, including fiber laser systems.
- Load, unload, stage, and properly handle sheet metal materials.
- Cut stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metal materials to specified dimensions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and cut lists.
- Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall part quality.
- Perform secondary fabrication processes including deburring, grinding, forming, and material preparation.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Follow established production, quality control, and safety procedures.
- Work closely with welding, fabrication, assembly, and other manufacturing teams.
- Identify production or equipment issues and communicate problems to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment, working in metal fabrication, or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience working with sheet metal, stainless steel, carbon steel, and/or aluminum.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use calipers, gauges, tape measures, and other measuring instruments.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience operating fiber laser equipment.
- Experience with Trumpf, Amada, Bystronic, Mazak, or similar CNC laser systems.
- CNC machine operation experience.
- CAD/CAM or nesting software experience.
- Press brake, forming, or general sheet metal fabrication experience.
- Experience with deburring, grinding, or other secondary fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
