Job Title: CNC Machinist
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr. - $32.00/hr.
Shift: 1st and 2nd
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality precision components according to blueprints and work orders. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC mills and/or lathes, strong blueprint reading skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines with the appropriate materials, tooling, and fixtures.
- Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and tooling as required to ensure efficient production.
- Utilize existing CNC programs and make machine-side edits when necessary.
- Create or modify programs at the machine as needed.
- Operate CNC machining equipment safely and efficiently to produce parts within specified tolerances.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Monitor machining operations and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality standards are met.
- Unload finished parts and move materials using overhead cranes, hoists, lifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members to meet production goals.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and precision manufacturing.
- Proficiency in shop mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, and trigonometry.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to safely operate cranes, hoists, lifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred
- Formal machining education or technical training.
- Experience editing CNC programs and troubleshooting machining processes.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, heat, and moving equipment.
- Manual dexterity required to operate machinery, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
Safety Requirements
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and steel-toe footwear.
- Hearing protection may be required in designated production areas.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and hazards immediately.
