Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator for our client in Valley City! You will play a pivotal role in accurately estimating costs for construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of construction materials, labor, and processes. 

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate project requirements, specifications, and blueprints to comprehend project scope and materials needed.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services based on project plans and requirements.
  • Source and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure quality and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Analyze data, such as labor, material costs, production times, and other factors influencing project expenses, to provide detailed and precise estimates.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including cost estimates, material lists, budgets, and timelines, ensuring clarity and accuracy for project planning.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project needs and contribute insights for cost-effective solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, cost fluctuations, and new construction techniques/methods to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing bids, proposals, and tender documents, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in estimating and documentation.
  • Deep understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
