Job Description
We have a client in Cleveland, OH seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join there finance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making as we continue to scale.
Direct Hire
Salary: $160k - $180k plus a 15% bonus potential
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, providing insight into business performance.
- Monitor cash flow, identify potential risks, and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders to inform strategic decision-making.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and accounting best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 4 years in a managerial or controller role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and managing cash flow.
