Job Title: Crate Builder
Location: San Antonio, TX

Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Crate Builder to join our Shipping Department team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and preparing custom crates and packaging to protect products for safe transport. This position requires hands-on skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess products and determine the best crate or packaging solution for safe shipping
  • Build, line, and pad crates and cartons using power tools, hand tools, and pneumatic tools
  • Inspect packed products and containers to ensure they meet all specifications
  • Safely place and secure products inside containers using forklifts, hoists, or manual handling
  • Accurately mark and label crates, containers, and related shipping documents
  • Maintain detailed records of product packaging and shipping details
  • Seal crates and containers to meet structural and safety standards
  • Load completed crates onto trailers for outbound shipments
  • Operate forklifts to collect and dispose of production waste properly
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Qualifications:
  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping, packaging, crating, or a similar role
  • Proficient with power tools, pneumatic tools, and hand tools
  • Comfortable operating forklifts and hoists (certification is a plus)
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs to a height of 4 feet or carrying loads up to 20 feet
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with safe tool operation
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Reliable team player with good communication skills
