Family Law Paralegal
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Family Law Paralegal to provide essential support to family law attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence cases.
The ideal candidate will be a Certified Paralegal in the state of North Carolina, and have at least 2 years of prior paralegal experience.
Position Details:
Salary: $60,000-$80,000

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with case management and client correspondence
- Prepare and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, orders, and discovery
- Conduct legal research and gather evidence for case preparation
- Manage client case files, ensuring accuracy and organization of documents
- Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on case status and answering questions
- Draft legal correspondence, including letters to opposing counsel, clients, and the courts
- Schedule hearings, mediations, and client meetings, coordinating with court personnel as necessary
- Organize and manage discovery, including subpoenas, document requests, and responses
- Prepare and maintain trial binders and assist in trial preparation
- Track and manage deadlines for case filings and other important dates
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines for legal practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Certified Paralegal by the North Carolina State Bar
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in family law
- Strong understanding of family law legal procedures, terminology, and documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
