Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Service Manager for our client in New Hyde Park! You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the HVAC service, maintenance, and installation department. 

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of HVAC service technicians and support staff. Provide guidance, feedback, and training to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Efficiently schedule and coordinate HVAC service appointments, ensuring timely response to customer inquiries and emergency service requests.
  • Monitor the quality of service provided by the team, ensuring adherence to company standards and industry best practices.
  • Offer technical expertise and support to service technicians during complex or challenging HVAC service calls. Troubleshoot issues and provide guidance on equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Oversee the management of HVAC parts and equipment inventory, ensuring an adequate supply for the service team while minimizing excess stock.
  • Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for the team and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and manage the department budget. Prepare regular reports on service performance, expenses, and other key metrics.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with HVAC suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the HVAC service department.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree or certification in HVAC or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in the HVAC industry, with at least 2-3 years of managerial or supervisory experience in a service-oriented role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and components. Familiarity with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional growth.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, team members, and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical and operational challenges.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and applications relevant to HVAC service management.
  • Valid HVAC technician license or certifications are a plus.
