Job Description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR operations within the firm, ensuring a high‑performing, compliant, and collaborative workplace. This role supports attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff across all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, and policy development.

*Candidate can be based in Orlando or Miami*

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Manage full‑cycle recruiting for attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.
  • Partner with practice group leaders to understand staffing needs and develop hiring strategies.
  • Coordinate job postings, resume screening, interviews, and candidate communication.
  • Oversee onboarding, orientation, and integration of new hires.
Employee Relations & Culture
  • Serve as a confidential resource for employees and attorneys regarding workplace concerns.
  • Coach managers on performance issues, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the firm.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative firm culture.
Performance Management
  • Administer annual and mid‑year performance review processes.
  • Assist practice leaders in setting goals, evaluating performance, and developing staff.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave programs.
  • Support annual compensation reviews and market benchmarking.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing in partnership with Finance.
Compliance & Policy Management
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Update and enforce firm policies, employee handbooks, and HR procedures.
  • Manage employee files, HRIS data, and confidential records with strict discretion.
  • Oversee workplace safety, ADA accommodations, and FMLA/leave administration.
HR Operations
  • Lead HR reporting, metrics, and workforce planning.
  • Manage employee engagement surveys and follow‑up action plans.
  • Coordinate firmwide communications related to HR initiatives.
  • Support special projects, including mergers, office expansions, and policy rollouts.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP) preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
