IP Citation & Patent Prosecution Specialist
Boston, MA
Direct Hire/Hybrid
Salary: $85,000 to $110,000 DOE
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced IP Citation & Patent Prosecution Specialist to support a busy Intellectual Property practice. This role is responsible for managing patent citation activities, coordinating Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) filings, monitoring deadlines, and ensuring compliance with USPTO requirements and international filing obligations.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and coordinate Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) filings and related patent prosecution documentation.
• Review and organize cited references, foreign correspondence, and supporting materials for submission.
• Monitor and manage docket deadlines to ensure timely and accurate filings.
• Coordinate with attorneys, patent professionals, foreign associates, and support staff regarding citation and disclosure requirements.
• Assist with patent family review and cross-citation analysis to ensure consistency across related applications.
• Prepare reports, status updates, and quality control documentation for attorney review.
• Review incoming matters and conduct citation audits to ensure completeness and compliance.
• Support patent prosecution activities by maintaining accurate records and tracking filing requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
• Ensure adherence to USPTO regulations, client requirements, and established internal procedures.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of patent prosecution support experience required.
• Prior experience handling Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and patent citation processes strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of USPTO rules, procedures, and patent prosecution practices.
• Experience coordinating filings involving foreign patent matters is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with intellectual property management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
• Prior experience handling Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and patent citation processes strongly preferred.
