Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intellectual Property Litigation Legal Assistant for our client in Minneapolis! This role requires someone with a strong understanding of intellectual property law, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to support attorneys in all aspects of intellectual property litigation.
  • Assist attorneys with case management, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining case calendars.
  • Conduct legal research on intellectual property issues, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Coordinate document production, including reviewing, organizing, and producing documents for discovery and trial.
  • Assist with deposition preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness binders.
  • Manage electronic filing systems and document databases, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, maintaining attorney calendars, and processing expense reports.
  • Stay updated on changes in intellectual property laws and regulations, and assist attorneys in applying new legal developments to ongoing cases.
  • Bachelor's degree in legal studies, paralegal studies, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal, with a focus on intellectual property litigation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting, with experience using legal research databases and document management software.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines and support attorney needs.
  • $65,000-$75,000
