Job Summary
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will oversee and guide a team of engineers, working closely with the Project Manager and Senior IT Leadership. Your main objective will be to ensure that projects are completed as planned—on schedule and within budget. Additionally, you will be responsible for fostering team development, providing hands-on support, and maintaining clear communication and organization within the team.
Core Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, ensuring high technical standards and collaborative teamwork.
- Assign tasks and manage team efforts to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Promote continuous learning and career development within the team.
- Collaboration with Project Management:
- Partner with the Project Manager and Senior IT Leadership to ensure technical solutions align with project objectives and scope.
- Track project milestones, identify challenges, and implement solutions to ensure timely and effective delivery.
- Network Expertise:
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures, including firewalls, servers, switches, and related hardware.
- Provide both on-site and remote support for advanced technical issues.
- Ensure network systems adhere to security, compliance, and industry best practices.
- Communication & Organizational Skills:
- Act as the primary liaison between the engineering team and leadership, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Keep comprehensive documentation of network configurations, project status, and issue resolutions.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Over 5 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in configuring and managing firewalls, servers, switches, backup solutions, and VOIP systems.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, etc., is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Superior verbal and written communication abilities.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, MS Server, Office 365, etc.).
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
