Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Building Engineer to join a growing commercial property operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment while ensuring safe and efficient facility operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong troubleshooting skills and commercial building experience.
Pay: $70,000-$75,000
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, chillers, boilers, air compressors, air handling units, and related equipment
- Adjust and maintain HVAC systems to meet operating standards
- Complete general building maintenance and repair tasks
- Maintain operation logs, inspection reports, and equipment records
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests and work orders
- Assist with emergency procedures, fire/life safety systems, and building evacuations when necessary
- Follow all company safety policies and environmental regulations
- Work closely with property management, contractors, and engineering staff
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC or building maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Ability to use testing equipment, meters, airflow devices, and diagnostic tools
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting equipment failures
- Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and building automation systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Certifications
- EPA Universal Certification
- Boiler Operator License
- Maintenance Electrician License
- Additional trade certifications are a plus
