Job Title: Tool Room Technician
Shift:  1st
Pay Rate:  $20/hr. - $23/hr. BOE

Position Summary:
The Tool Room Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying die cast tooling using standard tool room equipment and precision measuring instruments. This role requires a solid understanding of tool and die processes, as well as the ability to work from technical drawings and blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate standard tool room machinery and equipment.
  • Polish and clean die cast tooling and die cavities.
  • Perform repairs on die casting dies, including gate changes and drag removal.
  • Manufacture ejector pins, cores, and pinions to specification.
  • Straighten cores, drill water lines, and carry out abrasive cleaning tasks.
  • Use blueprints and technical drawings to guide fabrication and repair work.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions and quality.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and determine necessary corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement instruments.
  • Willingness to undergo on-the-job training specific to the position.
