Legal Assistant

Location: Tampa, Orlando and Gainesville, FL
Salary: $45,000 to $75,000

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with 2 to 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to be part of a collaborative and long-term team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Transcribe legal correspondence, including complaints, deposition summaries, and medical record summaries with accuracy and speed.
  • Coordinate and confirm deposition schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements as needed.
  • Communicate legal details to clients as directed by attorneys, ensuring professionalism and clarity.
  • Maintain an updated and accurate diary system for case tracking.
  • Handle clerical duties such as filing, faxing, photocopying, and processing mail efficiently.
  • Research, retrieve, and update case files and digital records as necessary.
  • Respond to client inquiries professionally to maintain strong relationships and represent the firm positively.
  • Assist co-workers with clerical tasks as needed and help maintain a professional office environment.
  • Open and organize new case files.
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Federal/Local Rules of the Middle District.
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in legal transcription, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Middle District Federal/Local Rules preferred.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
