Paralegal – Litigation (Insurance Defense / Commercial Litigation / Construction Law)
Location: Charleston, SC
Pay Range: $55,000 – $72,000 annually (depending on experience)
EverStaff has partnered with a respected boutique law firm located in Charleston,South Carolina, that specializes in complex litigation matters. This mid-sized firm is known for its high-caliber client service and strategic legal solutions. They are currently seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join their collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation-focused paralegal looking to make an impact in a firm with a strong reputation and supportive culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, assist with intake, and draft correspondence and court documents such as subpoenas, notices, and discovery.
Document Preparation: Draft pleadings, motions, and exhibits; manage electronic filings in both state and federal courts.
Discovery Assistance: Coordinate document reviews, prepare evidence packages, and assist with deposition preparation.
Calendar & Scheduling: Manage deadlines, schedule hearings, mediations, and depositions; coordinate with clients, courts, and experts.
Client Liaison: Maintain communication with clients and co-counsel; provide status updates and support with case developments.
Administrative Support: Track billable time, support invoice preparation, and ensure filing systems remain current and efficient.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense, commercial litigation, or construction law.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency with e-filing systems (including SC Bar E-File), legal research databases (Westlaw or Lexis), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal education preferred but not required.
