Everstaff is currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our client as an Investigator, servicing the Fayetteville, NC area. 
 
As an Investigator, you'll serve as support for the firm’s Attorneys, responding to time-sensitive investigation needs. Your role will involve locating pertinent facts and ensuring that attorneys are equipped with all the necessary information to thoroughly evaluate cases.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct investigations into private MVA, Commercial MVA, Workers Compensation, and Property liability injury incidents.
  • Interpret DMV 349 and other State and Federal Law Enforcement reports.
  • Obtain witness statements, gather detailed facts, and collaborate with law enforcement to rectify errors or omissions in reports.
  • Perform social media investigations and document incident scenes, including public roads, through photography and measurements.
  • Retrieve records from courts, law enforcement agencies, law offices, and medical facilities while ensuring compliance with DPPA, HIPAA, and other regulations.
  • Canvass scenes for witnesses, cameras, and other case-relevant evidence and submit FOIA and other public record requests.
  • Research DMV and other Governmental Records, prepare Affidavits, Exhibits, and NC AOC forms, and conduct in-home visits with clients for document signing.
  • Maintain chain of custody records for evidence and utilize third-party databases such as Accurint and West Law to accurately communicate findings.
  • Drive an average of 200 miles per week, occasionally up to 1000 miles per week, and work after hours or weekends for specific surveillance tasks and service of process.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of investigation experience in the private sector or 4 years of experience in Law Enforcement, Military Police, or Intelligence.
  • Basic understanding of civil law and ability to identify civil liability during investigations.
  • Proficiency with digital cameras, audio recorders, and computers.
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents and statutes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bilingualism preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PDF.
  • Experience with Legal Case Management software preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
