Job Title: MIG Welder
Pay Rate:  $20.00/hr. - $25.00/hr.
Shift:  1st
 
Position Overview: As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for operating MIG welding equipment to join, fabricate, and repair metal parts and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, be proficient in reading blueprints and welding diagrams, and possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques based on the specifications of the project.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding diagrams, and technical drawings to determine the appropriate welding process.
  • Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding by grinding, sanding, or scraping.
  • Position and secure workpieces using clamps, jigs, and fixtures, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, following specified welding procedures and quality standards.
  • Monitor welding process to ensure proper fusion and penetration, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Inspect welded joints for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
 
 
 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a MIG Welder or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Familiarity with welding safety practices and procedures.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Welding certification (e.g., AWS certification) is a plus.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise welding tasks.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights.
