Payroll Adminstrator
Job Description
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This includes managing payroll data, handling deductions, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and experience with payroll systems and processes.
This is a full time position, M-F 1st shift.
Pay: $24 - $28/hourly
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy in wages, benefits, and deductions.
- Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay or benefits.
- Review timesheets and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, and track and report payroll taxes.
- Prepare and file necessary payroll-related reports, such as tax filings and benefit reconciliations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions.
- Support the HR department with benefits administration and other payroll-related tasks.
- Assist with year-end reporting, including W-2 and 1099 preparation.
- Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or related field.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
