Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Probate Litigation Paralegal to join their dynamic legal team in downtown Houston. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex probate, estate, and trust litigation matters in a collaborative and professional environment.

Salary: $80,000-$100,000
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support attorneys throughout all stages of litigation, from case inception through discovery, trial, post-trial, and case closure
  • Draft and prepare court filings, pleadings, and exhibits
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories and document production
  • Assist with deposition, hearing, and mediation preparation and logistics
  • Manage case calendars, deadlines, and dockets
  • Coordinate and oversee electronic discovery processes
  • Prepare probate pleadings, trust and estate accountings, federal estate tax returns, and funding calculations
  • Handle trust administration, probate, and conservatorship matters
  • File court documents, including e-filing in state and federal courts
 
Required Skills and Attributes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities with a sharp attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other legal technology platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive, team-oriented approach
  • Reliable, professional demeanor with a positive and adaptable attitude
 
Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in probate, trust, guardianship, and complex estate planning matters preferred
  • In-depth understanding of the litigation process, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation
