Job Title: Quality Inspector
Pay Rate:  $18.00/hr. - $20.00/hr.
Shift:  3:00pm – 11:30pm

Job Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all products meet internal and external quality standards through regular audits, product testing, and data collection. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with quality requirements, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting continuous process enhancements.
Responsibilities:
Inspection, Audits, and Testing:
  • Perform written line audits at designated intervals throughout the shift.
  • Conduct daily material audits and verify operator inspection sheets for accuracy.
  • Audit and inspect products during the packing process, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Perform visual inspections on products from each press daily.
  • Verify the functionality of all working scales and measuring equipment.
  • Measure part dimensions as required using calipers, height gauges, and other precision tools.
  • Conduct incoming and outgoing product inspections.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings/prints to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Accept or reject products based on established quality standards.
Data Collection & Entry:
  • Collect inspection data to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain daily inspection and lot traceability logs.
  • Complete all necessary product testing paperwork and documentation.
Sample Management:
  • Identify when process books require updates and notify responsible personnel.
  • Verify accuracy of reference images and quality criteria samples.
  • Ensure proper storage of sample parts.
  • Ensure all necessary criteria samples are available at the start of a production run.
Training & Development:
  • Assist in training new employees, both temporary and permanent, on quality requirements.
  • Provide guidance and reinforcement of quality procedures to operators.
  • Deliver ongoing training regarding quality alerts and updated criteria.
Non-Conformance & Rework:
  • Assign rework tasks to available operators and oversee completion.
  • Perform rework as necessary to maintain product quality.
  • Verify RMA counts, disposition non-conforming products, and ensure proper documentation.
General Responsibilities:
  • Use technical expertise and manufacturing experience to achieve quality objectives.
  • Lead by example, maintaining professionalism and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, safety rules, and work procedures.
  • Exhibit reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance.
  • Maintain a customer service-oriented approach when interacting with external parties.
  • Participate in problem-solving initiatives and cross-functional improvement teams.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and feeling; ability to communicate verbally.
  • Regular standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 5 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Visual abilities include close vision, distance vision, color differentiation, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience; High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in machining or plastic injection molding is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of formal problem-solving techniques is beneficial.
  • Intermediate technical skills, particularly with ERP systems, Microsoft Windows, and Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work on several projects simultaneously.
