Job Description

Job Summary:
The quality technician is a key player on the manufacturing floor that will approve products and troubleshoot issues by utilizing testing and inspection methods.
 
PAY: $20 - $23/ hour. (may go between both locations) 
 
SHIFT: split shift (12pm – 8pm) 

Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct first piece and last piece approvals (FPLP)
  2. Conduct retain inspections
  3. Perform critical functionality testing of finished goods and raw materials. Record results.
  4. Perform dock audits, layered process audits, and production audits.
  5. Assist teams on go and see audits.
  6. Complete yearly workshop improvement projects.
  7. Assist quality team in containment, root cause, and corrective measures on quality issues. 
  • Initiate QA Holds and reworks associated with containment actions
  1. Coordinate the reporting and disposition of WIP Hold material.  Track and report metrics
  • Lead training for new/revised quality work instructions and procedures
  • Issue and follow up on ICARs to capture internal non-conformances
  • Other duties, as assigned.
 
Required Skills/Abilities: 
  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  2. Aptitude for critical thinking 
  3. Must be able to identify priorities and be well organized in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment, as well as independently
  5. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook
  6. Candidates must be self-directed
  7. Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
 
Education and Experience:
  1. High School diploma 
  2. 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
  3. Experience with testing and inspecting product preferred
 
Physical Requirements: 
- Must be able to work on your feet on the plant floor for extended periods
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to perform minor heavy lifting
