Job Description

EverStaff, a recruiting firm, seeks a candidate for our Direct Hire position with a top client, offering excellent work culture, benefits, and growth potential. We are looking for an experienced Paralegal.
 
Details:
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm (On-Site) “flexible start time”
Annual Salary: up to 60k annually DOE.

Summary
This role will work closely with a lead attorney and legal assistant. Successful candidates will be responsible for areas including but not limited to the following in both administration and litigation of workers’ compensation matters.
 
Responsibilities
  • File all court documents with courts of common pleas and various commissions.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, counsel, and other parties relevant to the case files.
  • Conduct factual investigation.
  • Prepare discovery documents and responses.
  • Draft and serve subpoenas and notices.
  • Coordinate depositions.
  • Coordinate independent medical exams.
  • Draft pleadings and motions to file with the court.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes electronically.
  • Organize medical records, exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices electronically.
  • Aid attorneys’ discovery requests.
  • Gather and maintain relevant information from a variety of sources (ex: medical records, witnesses, and clients)
  • Prepare case settlements and execution of settlement documents with clients.
 
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher, certificate, or equivalent work experience.
  • Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program preferred.
  • Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Medical Malpractice, or other injury related practice areas preferred.
  • At least 2 years of working experience as a paralegal or in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
  • Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail.
